Chicago Chapter Of ACC-A SelectedFor Annual Meeting Honor

The Chicago Chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel-America (ACC) was selected to present the Best of Chapter Program at the 2004 Annual Meeting taking place October 25-27 at the Sheraton Chicago.

This honor is afforded annually to the chapter that submits the highest quality program presented by in-house counsel at a local level. The winning program, Issues in Mediation & Arbitration for Neutrals & Corporate Counsel, originally was offered by the Chicago Chapter in October 2003 and featured a three-member panel of in-house counsel and former judges. This program was one of more than 20 education events and social programs the chapter typically offers its members throughout the year.

Since the Best of Chapter Program contest began in 2000, ACC has hosted the competition among its 43 chapters to spotlight quality in-house-focused programming at the chapter level.

The Best of Chapter Program selection process is overseen by the ACC annual meeting advisory board, which is comprised of leaders from the ACC board of directors, local chapters, and practice area committees. The Chicago Chapter joins the ranks of other recent winning chapters including Southern California, Northeast and Houston.

"We are thrilled to have been selected the winners of the 2004 competition," said Ron Polasek, 2003-2004 president of the Chicago Chapter, expressing the chapter's gratitude to Michael Booden (current president) for playing the lead role in coordinating the winning program.

Winning entry or not, there is an underlying value to the competition, according to ACC President Fred Krebs. "This competition recognizes one of the many valuable benefits our chapters provide: quality programs where members share knowledge and expertise with their peers," he said.
