Chicago Bar Seminars To ReviewForming An Illinois Business Entity

The Chicago Bar Association (CBA) this month has scheduled its Eighteenth Annual How to Form an Illinois Business Entity: Corporation and Its Alternatives, Parts 1 and 2.

Part 1 will take place on Wednesday, September 13 at the CBA headquarters, 321 South Plymouth Court, Chicago. Part 2 will take place on Wednesday, September 20 at the same location. Each session runs from 3 to 6 p.m.

Part 1, moderated by Steven A. Migala, chair of the CBA Corporation and Business Law Committee, will cover: Overview of Business Entities; Pitfalls of a Close Corporation; Economics of Partnerships, and Getting the Financing: Securities Law (in a Very Small Nutshell).

Part 2, moderated by Philip N. Hablutzel, professor, Chicago-Kent College of Law, will cover Refinement and Some Common Problems; Forming a Subchapter S Corporation; Drafting the LLC and Partnership Documents, and Avoiding Malpractice Pitfalls.
