Chicago ACCA Seminar To CoverKey Topics Of Interest To Corporate Counsel

The Chicago Chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel America this month is planning a seminar titled Actions Against Your Company - The In-House Response, and Protecting the Corporate Interests - Corporate Recovery Opportunities.

The program will take place on Tuesday, May 24 from 2 to 5:15 p.m. at The East Bank Club, 500 North Kingsbury Street, Chicago. Registration will begin at 1:30 p.m., and the program will be followed by a reception from 5:15 to 6:15 p.m.

The session will be repeated the following morning from 8:30 to 11:45 a.m. at McDonald's Hamburger University, 2715 Jorie Boulevard, Oak Brook, IL.

A panel that includes Beth L. Fancsali, Wildman, Harrold, Allen & Dixon LLP; John P. Mandler, Faegre & Benson, LLP, and Jeffrey W. Jackson, associate general counsel, State Farm Mutual Auto Insurance, will discuss management of high-profile product liability actions and class actions.

Another panel, including Richard Antonelli, Spilman, Thomas & Battle PLLC; G. Marcus Cole, professor of law, Stanford University; David Fein, Yale Law School; Adam L. Hoeflich, Bartlit Beck Herman Palenchar & Scott; Larry Samuels, McGuireWoods LLP, and Allen P. Waxman, senior assistant general counsel, Pfizer, Inc., will discuss how corporations can best manage investigations, either from an external source or when conducting an investigation from within.

A third panel, including P. Clarkson Collins Jr., Morris James Hitchens & Williams; Mr. Hoeflich, and Thomas L. Sager, vice president and assistant general counsel, DuPont, will discuss recouping millions of dollars in revenue using a strategy similar to the one DuPont has instituted.
