Association Of The Bar Seminar Will Examine Outsourcing Risks

Hundreds of billions of dollars of outsourcing transactions occur each year in the U.S. and offshore. However, outsourcing presents risk and the shifting of risk for all parties. One misstep by the service provider can put them out of business. Conversely, service providers who have made pricing errors for large engagements have jeopardized their entire company.

Some of the pitfalls of outsourcing will be examined this month by the Association of the Bar of the City of New York in a CLE seminar titled Outsourcing: Practical & Business Considerations to Protecting the Crown Jewels.

The program, set for Tuesday, January 27, will provide a foundation for negotiating outsourcing agreements including: scope, service levels, pricing, intellectual property, personnel issues, regulatory, privacy, offshore servicing and business continuity.

Richard Raysman, Brown Raysman Millstein Felder & Steiner LLP, is serving as program chair.

The session will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. at the House of the Association, 42 West 44th Street, New York City.

See the Bulletin Board in this issue for information on registration fees and CLE credits.
