Advice On How To WinCommercial Cases In Federal Courts



MICPEL has scheduled three video replays of a popular CLE seminar titled Advice From the Experts: Successful Strategies for Winning Commercial Cases in Federal Court.


The sessions will take place on Friday, June 11 at the MICPEL offices, Baltimore; on Friday, June 18 at the Office of Nicole Green, PA, Salisbury, MD, and on Friday, July 2 at the Circuit Court Law Library, Rockville, MD.


Each session runs from 8:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.


Featuring eight of Maryland's federal judges and 23 experienced trial attorneys, this program provides attendees with both the practical guidance and tested strategies needed to succeed in commercial cases in the federal courts.


The speakers will focus on strategies and practical advice aimed at maximizing an attorney's effectiveness at each stage of litigation. They will share their proven techniques for advancing a client's interests as well as identifying and avoiding common pitfalls.


Among the issues presenters will address are choosing the forum, pleadings, investigation, motions, provisional remedies, discovery, depositions, ADR, ethics and professionalism, expert witnesses, trials, evidence, damages, appeals, settlements, enforcement of judgments, and management of corporate litigation.


The judicial participants in the seminar, all from the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland, include the Hon. Richard D. Bennett, the Hon. James K. Bredar, the Hon. Deborah K. Chasanow, the Hon. William G. Connelly, the Hon. Charles B. Day, the Hon. Marvin J. Garbis, the Hon. Paul W. Grimm and the Hon. Benson E. Legg.

Each attendee will receive a copy of the acclaimed six-volume treatise Business & Commercial Litigation in Federal Courts.
