'ADR & IP Disputes'



The CLE seminar ADR & IP Disputes will be offered in three locations this month by the Pennsylvania Bar Institute (PBI).


The sessions will take place on Friday, June 11 at the PBI Conference Center, 5080 Ritter Road, Mechanicsburg, PA; on Wednesday, June 16 at the CLE Conference Center, Wanamaker Building, Juniper Street, Philadelphia, and on Friday, June 18 at the Conference Center at Mellon, 501 Grant Street, Pittsburgh.


Participants can expect to gain new insights into choosing and using the full range of alternative dispute resolution processes in resolving intellectual property disputes before, during and after trial. A discussion of the key ethical issues in preparing and conducting ADR will be included.


Major discussion topics will include:


A Discussion of Commonly Used and Cutting-Edge Processes in Resolving IP Disputes;


Strategies for Motivating and Promoting Settlement and Application of Decision Tree Analysis in Litigation and Settlement Strategies;


Anatomy of the Mediation Process;


Anatomy of the Binding Arbitration Process.


The course planners for this seminar are Robert B. Rosenthal, Duane Morris LLP, and Harrie Samaras, RatnerPrestia. Among the speakers will be Richard A. Blumenthal, formerly executive vice president and general counsel, Systems & Computer Technology Corporation; Louis Coffey, WolfBlock; Robert W. Dickinson, Jones Day, and Franklin A. Miles Jr., Hershey Entertainment & Resorts Company.


Each session will run from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., with registration starting at 8 a.m.
