ACCA-SOCAL Plans CLE SeminarOn Understanding In-House Relationships



The Southern California Chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel-America (ACCA-SOCAL) this month is planning an afternoon CLE seminar titled Don't Get Left Behind: Understanding the Business of In-House Relationships.


The program is scheduled for Friday, July 16 from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel, third floor, 404 South Figueroa Street, Los Angeles. Registration will begin at 2 p.m. A reception will follow from 5 to 7 p.m.


This program will teach attorneys who are in the early years of private practice about two important aspects of in-house legal practice: what in-house counsel do and should expect from outside counsel, and how to get and retain business from in-house counsel.


Serving as program moderator will be Katrina Dewey, editor of the Los Angeles Daily Journal. The speakers will include: Steven Atneosen, vice president-legal affairs and general counsel, CarParts Technologies; Judith Bain, vice president-legal affairs and general counsel, Epson America Inc.; Thomas Geiser, general counsel, Wellpoint; Richard (Ben) Hirst, executive vice president and chief legal officer, KB Home; Jay McFadyen, vice president and general counsel, Red Bull North America, Inc.; Stuart Pardu, executive director and chief counsel, J.D. Power and Associates; Julie Pierce, assistant general counsel, Toshiba America Business Solutions, Inc.; W. Burks Terry, corporate vice president and general counsel, Northrop Grumman Corporation, and Debby Zurzolo, general counsel, The Cheesecake Factory.
