ACC, MCCA, Atlanta Consortium PlanProgram On Diversity In Legal Profession

The Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC), the Minority Corporate Counsel Association (MCCA) and the Atlanta Legal Diversity Consortium, Inc. this month are sponsoring A Call to Action, the fourth Annual Symposium on Diversity in the Legal Profession.

The conference will take place on Tuesday, June 28 from noon to 5:30 p.m. at the Westin, Peachtree Plaza, 210 Peachtree Street, Atlanta.

A diverse panel of general counsel will discuss Roderick Palmore's A Call to Action:Diversity in the Legal Profession . Mr. Palmore, general counsel for Sara Lee Corporation, says the purpose of his "call to action" is to take "general interest in advancing diversity and translate that into action, into a commitment to act on, to make decisions about retaining law firms based in part on the diversity performance of those law firms."

The panel will discussA Call to Action's impact, educate local and regional in-house and outside counsel on the purpose, goals and effects of A Call to Action, identify one or more local general counsel to carry the banner for A Call to Action in Georgia and the Southeast and to increase Atlanta's visibility as a venue that embraces this and other diversity initiatives.
