ACC Annual Meeting To Examine The New Face Of In-House Counsel

This year's Annual Meeting of the Association of Corporate Counsel-America will focus on The New Face of In-House Counsel, a concept that means while corporate practice has begun to change, corporate counsel are likely to face continuing rapid change in the future.

The 2004 Annual Meeting is scheduled for Sunday, October 24 through Wednesday, October 27 at the Sheraton Chicago, 301 East North Water Street, Chicago.

The event is designed to give attendees the opportunity to learn from the experiences of others about dealing with the changes to come and to develop contacts for benchmarking best practices.

Activities will begin with a welcome reception from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on the first day. CLE activities will run from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on day two, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on day three and 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on day four.

A highlight of the conference will be the Chair's Forum set for 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Monday under the theme Wearing More Hats Than a Hydra Has Heads - In-House Practitioners in Today's Corporate Environment ... Anticipating the Challenges and Meeting the Demands in Today's Corporate Practice.

Also on Monday, the luncheon speaker will be Deborah Ackerman, vice president and general counsel at Southwest Airlines, who will address the topics What Would a Law Department Look Like If It Were Run Like Southwest Airlines?

To help attendees make their CLE decisions easier, the conference has scheduled repeat sessions of many of the more popular CLE sessions.
