A New Approach To Contract Drafting

Contract drafting is a ubiquitous task for lawyers, but most learn to do it well only through trial and error, using forms that may or may not be well-suited for the situation at hand. To help attorneys avoid the problems associated with trial-and-error learning, MICPEL this month will present a CLE seminar titled Contract Drafting and Review for the Maryland Lawyer.

The program will take place on Monday, August 15 from 9 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. at the Ecker Business Training Center, 6751 Columbia Gateway Drive, Columbia, MD.

Participants will learn a systematic, research-based approach to creating and reviewing written agreements of all kinds. Charles A. Borek, author of Contract Drafting and Review for the Maryland Lawyer, will show how implementing this approach will help attorneys better assist their clients by avoiding reliance on boilerplate or "customary" language with uncertain consequences.

For information on registration fees and available CLE credits, see the Bulletin Board on The Metropolitan Corporate Counsel website at www.metrocorpcounsel.com.
